Brand transformation and re-positioning

Taiwan started its economic development from industry. With the rise of information technology and the advent of the new era of service, industry no longer exists independently; however, it will be linked with service, technology and design, thus blurring the borders among sectors and creating many emerging sectors.Under the impact of the changing times, IDB, as a governmental unit that leads the industry, needs to transform itself from "Industry Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs" into "Industry Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic and Energy Affairs" in order to lead the inter-industry cooperation and innovation of Taiwan. Its original logo could no longer reflect its new position. As a result, VOCUIS was authorized to re-shape the brand image for IDB by integrating its new position and new vision of "upgrading Taiwan industry and keeping pace with the international market from improvement of quality to creation of sensory value" into the new identity design.

Preserve the spirit of Taiwan industrial development during the brand position transformation

Industry has accelerated the development of Taiwan's modern manufacturing industry, and also serves as foundation of the manufacturing industry of Taiwan, as well as the main spirit that must be maintained or extended in this design project. To rebuild the brand is to keep the brand identity in line with the changing position of systems caused by the changing environment and trend. In this project, the major challenge is to preserve the spirit of Taiwan industrial development during the brand position transformation.In addition, it's also inevitable to revise the original brand identity that was based on the Chinese name of "Industry Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs" in order to keep abreast of the international standards.

Create the design in a more international and modern manner

With the transformation to the information time, the integration of and cooperation among industries becomes more and more frequent, and the new forms of industries and business modes are blurring the borders among agriculture, industry and business. During the design of brand image for IDB, VOCUIS reshaped the brand by focusing on "integration and connection" and "upgrading and transformation of the information times", and created the design in a more international and modern manner by means of "integrating words with totem" and "strengthening international recognition", which can boost international cooperation in the future.
